Community Worker

ECD2

Our Community Work and Youth Programs, headed up by George Smith, focus on the development of leadership, arts and culture, sport, as well as music and dance. These initiatives help promote and increase school attendance and ultimately employment.
There are 3 initiatives currently running:

Job Journey - a work readiness program for school leavers. The programme is spread over 11 days and covers topics like: Identifying personal strengths and weaknesses; Belonging and Character; CV Writing; How to communicate well; What to do in an interview, and so much more.

Friday Teens Group - These sessions aim to tackle the real-life issues our teenagers face daily and assist them with planning and goal setting.

The KickStart Project - Aims to equip our young adults in the village to be self-motivated, confident and resilient. Selected individuals receive mentor training and become role models to the youth in the community.

Other programs address peer pressure, completion of High School, drug abuse, sex education and environmental education.
